The Little League World Series is usually more entertaining than the professional World Series, but this time, it took an emotional turn.
During the consolation game between Oregon and Italy on Monday, the coach of Oregon, Joel Jensen, made his way to the pitcher’s mound to offer some advice to his closer. The pep talk wasn’t of the ordinary, however, in that Jensen’s son Isaiah was waiting to throw to the final batter.
“I just came out here to tell you how much I love you,” Jensen said. “This is your last hitter, understand? Come right after ’em.”
If that isn’t amazing enough, Oregon went on to beat Italy 6-2! Cue the lights and cameras because this sounds like an inspirational sports film!
