Organizations will spend their money on just about anything if it means keeping viewers and fans, but what companies plan to spend on esports in 2016 is astronomical.
According to Newzoo, a market intelligence firm, brands will spend around $128 million sponsoring esports teams and tournaments. What is even crazier is that there is a projection that companies, such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Redbull will spend $197 million in advertising and video content.
Reports say that there are about 33.4 million esports fans in the United States, so it might be safe to say that their money is well spent!
